PRIVATE HOUSE EXTENSION
August 2017
The design brief:
To create a new kitchen and dining space with views to the garden. Rearrange the first floor to provide a new family bathroom, double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. All designed and leading off the existing landing area.
The site was constrained by a block of flats on one boundary and its position, as a semi detached house.
The new kitchen with utility room hidden to the rear. A large rooflight adds directional light onto the island

Views through the bi fold doors through to the patio and garden beyond
The luxurious family bathroom where the spotlights play upon the small glass mosaic tiles.
The shower space formed by a wet room system negates the need for a shower tray

The clients existing cast iron bath sits in its new position under the new sash window
A new double bedroom with a vertical sash window, period design radiator and deco wall rails complement the period detailing of the existing house.

The ensuite bathroom sparkles with glass tile mosaics on the walls and floor
The extension works are entered off an existing staircase landing which is enlarged to house a custom made airing cupboard and dado rails to match the existing period decor.
The side access is paved with sandstone slabs with Cotswold stone french drain edging against the house. The timber access gate and rustic brick wall complement the new works.
